Senior Moroccan and U.S. officials expressed willingness to explore new opportunities for the two countries’ defense cooperation, the Moroccan National Defense Administration said in a statement on Friday.
Earlier in the day, Moroccan Minister in charge of the National Defense Administration Abdeltif Loudyi met with a delegation of U.S. congressmen in the Moroccan capital of Rabat.
The two sides expressed satisfaction with the current bilateral defense cooperation and interest in working together on cyber defense, space force, and defense industry initiatives.
Loudyi reiterated the importance of bilateral military cooperation through the exchange of experience and expertise.
Morocco and the U.S. have a close military partnership. The two countries’ navies just completed the joint “Atlas Handshake 23-1” exercise in late August.
