A man is dead after being shot by Phoenix police officers near 32nd and Washington streets Saturday afternoon.
Police say the incident happened when officers were investigating a burglary call at a storage facility.
When officers arrived, they found a man and a woman. The woman provided identification, but officers had difficulties identifying the man.
Police say officers were taking the man into custody when a struggle began. That is when the officer-involved shooting occurred.
An officer was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries to his leg. A second officer had minor injuries to his hand.
The man was taken to the hospital where he died from his injuries, according to officials.
It is unknown how the officers were injured.
All westbound traffic along Washington Street is closed due to this incident.
