Police said a suspect related to the victim fled the scene and was later located near 59th and Peoria Avenues. Officers pulled the vehicle over and the suspect got out of the vehicle with a gun and shot himself, authorities said. The suspect has been transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Police said 59th Avenue has been shut down from Cholla Street to Peoria Avenue as the incident is investigated. The area will be closed for several hours, officials said.
